Study focus
To maintain objectivity I have to keep asking questions myself to make sure not to draw the wrong conclusions. This is due to the fact that I have some prior knowledge of the Rapture and that should not be in the way for this study.
Questions text analysis:
The questions we need to ask ourselves for each text that is meant for research are listed as follows:
- Is the text to be taken literal or not?
- If it is not literal, find out what the literal sense is.
- Is the text unambiguous, can we draw a single conclusion?
- Is the text referring to the Rapture?
- Is the text referring to a related event of the Rapture?
- Are there (relative) time references?
- Are there references to other events?
Research:
- What do we know about the Rapture itself?
- In what verses in the Bible is the Rapture mentioned?
- What is the context of the Rapture in relations to other events?
- What has the Rapture to do with the Last week of Daniel?
- What is without dispute the Day of the Lord?
