How do we give God Glory? |
Edited: 10-05-2026
A few things you must understand about God is His character. God is Righteous - it means He uses His Judgement on everything and everyone. And His Judgement is based on what is True and what is fair. And only God makes those calls. Man's righteousness is nothing to God.
People seem to forget that God is forgiving and gives grace to those who accept Him as their Father, and will do away with sin. That through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ Who is the only way to Heaven. So grace is conditional. And receiving grace has for God nothing, again nothing, to do with earning it. You don't earn zip to God. So your life works do absolutely nothing for you if do not repent. Your works don't get you to heaven. Understand that repenting comes first, then works come later when you have matured in the faith.
So it not by accident that we know about God and Jesus generation after generation. There is structure and purpose to this. God wants everyone to be saved because God has no pleasure in the perishing of the wicked. And that means spreading the Word of God.
The very nature of man opposes God to the core. God Himself said that He is the opposite of this world. That means that man will have no easy task to follow in the steps of God because as God puts it, we are prisoners of sin. And those who want to know the Truth will be set free. Jesus Christ is the way to the Truth and the way to everlasting life.
Then, how do we give God Glory? There are many ways:
- Prayer - always ask anything from the Father in Christ's name.
- Show people that your accomplishments are not of yourself but of Jesus, the Father and the Holy Spirit, give God the Glory not yourself.
- Sing along in worship.
- Proclaim the Gospel to non-believers. Bring people to God so they may be saved, and to give God Glory.
- Help your brothers and sisters in church service or in other ways. Because the church service is there for the Glory of God.
- Study the Bible with others in fellowship to understand the Word better so to know God better.
- Show the world that your light is shining - even in the worst of times. Meaning you know God is near you, with you all the way.
Amen
